Social Work (B.A.)

A central task of social work is to demand social justice through social participation and equal opportunity. Through the social work degree program, you will acquire the skills to work with individuals, groups, and the community toward establishing social, economic, and political participation and achieving sustainability.

By graduating with a B.A. in Social Work, you will have gained affiliation with a human rights profession, meaning you will be empowered to advocate for people and their rights. You can then express all of this through the skills you have acquired in your studies as an advocacy representative.

Diverse theories and methods, as well as legal and ethical foundations, enable you to design, justify and reflect on your own professional actions in a well-founded manner. The program thus qualifies you for complex challenges in the fields of social work. It is designed in a generalist way, but gives you the opportunity to set your own priorities and deepen your knowledge through a broad selection of topics in theory-practice deepening and elective seminars.

The social work degree program is particularly suitable for prospective students who want to work with people to find solutions in challenging situations and who want to contribute and develop their personal and social skills.

The special profile of the study program includes

• the two-semester project study, which is thematically co-designed by students and offers the opportunity to carry out project planning in practice or to plan and carry out practice research projects in small groups.
• the focus throughout the program is on the cross-cutting themes of diversity, inclusion, critique of racism and migration as well as intersectionality (e.g. category of gender) and on cultural education.
• the flexibilization of the study program - the possibility to complete the study program at a speed adapted to your life situation with an individual study plan if required and to use the offers of the 'Enthinderung' regulations for barrier-free studying.
• attractive additional offers, e.g. interdisciplinary lecture series, foreign language courses and experiential excursions.

All study programs at EH Ludwigburg are taught in German. Therefore, German language skills with the level C1 are a prerequisite for you to enroll in the study program. For more information please visit the Study Application page.
